Terms of use
Updated
Kivalio provides a private family directory and timeline for recorded family information. These service rules describe accounts, access, contributions and the current free service.
Accounts and family access
The service is intended for people in the United States. Account registration is for adults aged 18 or older. Use your own account and a verified email address. Protect your sign-in credentials and codes.
Creating an account does not give access to an existing family. Joining requires an invitation and active family membership. Family owners manage access and manager assignments. Access and editing permissions depend on your membership and recorded person binding, not a shared surname.
Information you contribute
Enter verified genealogy and facts you are authorized to share. Keep uncertain or incomplete dates at their recorded precision. Do not invent relatives, contact details, social accounts or relationships. Ask the family owner or support to help resolve an incorrect or disputed record.
Shared genealogy is visible to family members. Private fields have separate permissions. Owners and managers can see all family records; a family is not a public profile or an anonymous storage space. Review the privacy notice before contributing another person’s information.
Responsible use
Do not use Kivalio to impersonate someone, harass people, publish information you are not authorized to share, or attempt to access another family without permission. Do not bypass access controls or service limits. Report suspected misuse or a security problem to support@kivalio.com.
Free service and limits
The current service has no paid plan or automatic charge. A family can hold up to 500 people, 2,000 events, 50 active accounts and pending invitations, and 20 MiB of current record content. An account can own two families and join ten. New registrations may be paused when capacity is reached.
Availability is not guaranteed. Keep an export of important information. The public demo contains fictional records; it is not a source for your family’s genealogy. AI questions are disabled.
Leaving, correction and deletion
You can export information allowed by your permissions. Leaving a family or deleting your sign-in account ends your access but does not automatically remove genealogy you contributed. Ask the family owner to correct or remove family records, or contact support if you cannot do so.
Owners must transfer or delete owned families before deleting their account. Scheduling family deletion closes member access and gives the owner seven days to cancel. Live records are then removed by background processing. Backup and retained-history details are explained in the privacy notice.
